Writer's Block: Opposites attract (sometimes) @ 08:34 pm

In general, do you find yourself more attracted to people with similar or different interests, life experiences, political beliefs, and religious backgrounds? Do you think having some common interests/goals is essential for a successful relationship?

I believe one has very little control over who or what they are attracted to. But what I think might help is if people rearrange their priorities a little bit. Like music should not take precedent over kindness. I learned that one the hard way. And hey, if I've learned anything from being married, true love isn't about finding the person who lets you stay the same, it's the person who stretches you and makes you be the person you didn't know you could be. That might be liking and doing things that you didn't always like and do.

What I found out about myself is whether I am attracted to someone I think is just like me, or someone completely different, no one IS just like me. Everyone is unique and no matter how similar, their differences will come up whether you want them to or not. Can you live with that? Do you embrace that? Those are the questions you need to be asking.

If you could travel back in time, what advice would you give to your younger self?

Self, right now everyone is telling you that you have so much time to live your life and do what you want to do but until then you should be a good girl and listen to them. I'm here to tell you, that life is too short, you only have so much time and you should do all the things you think you cannot do right now. There will be times when you are afraid to do something. That is more reason to just do it. The more things you do that scare you now, the less fearful you will be in the future. You are your own person and do not let anyone stand in the way of who you are and what you want to be. You can do whatever you want to do to even if someone tells you you can't, disagrees with you, or is already doing it.
Be fearless! Have a hand in everything! But savor every single minute like I know you already do. Never be ashamed of who you are. If you ever meet anyone who tells you any different, trust me, run screaming for the hills. You're lovely, you're amazing, and yes, you're beautiful and you should be proud of what you are. Never, ever let anyone make you feel any different.

Writer's Block: Things You Don't Want to Know @ 02:51 pm

If you knew that a friend's significant other was cheating on him or her, would you tell your friend the truth or keep it to yourself?

First of all.
People who side with the cheater and keep it a secret are just young, immature and chicken-shit.
Second.
People who tell should not do it because they care more about the cheatee than the cheater, they should do it in order to do the right thing.
People act like they care about their friends and want them to be in healthy relationships but then they turn around and act selfishly.

Grow up.
